About The Sensor

The NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor in a Battery Management System (BMS) continuously monitors the temperature of the battery pack to ensure safe operation. As the battery temperature increases, the resistance of the NTC sensor decreases, allowing the BMS to detect overheating. If the temperature exceeds the preset safety limit, the BMS automatically disconnects charging or discharging to protect the battery from damage, overheating, and potential thermal runaway. Once the temperature returns to the safe operating range, the BMS restores normal operation, ensuring enhanced battery safety, reliability, and longer service life.
